He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth B. Owens and Edna P. Owens (Walker); his former wives, Marilyn Owens (Dyer) and Ada Owens; his wife Lenora Owens; his brother Hugh Owens; his daughter Joy Lynn Gillespie; and his son-in-law Steven Gillespie.
He is survived by: his son Daniel Owens (Brenda); his grandchildren, Jenny Lafary (Joe), Mark Owens (Amanda), Hannah Owens, Bonnie Gillespie and Brynne Gillespie; his brother David Owens (Frances); and his sister-in-law Donna Owens. He is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, numerous step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
