He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Carswell and Mina Carswell; his wife Sandra Lee Carswell; and his siblings, Issac Carswell Sr., Nathaniel Carswell, Bishop Flanders Carswell Sr., Violet Walker, Louise Parrish, Geraldine Carswell, Annie Ruth Cook and Annette Thompson.
He is survived by: his daughter Patricia Mazique; his granddaughters, LaShonda Mazique-Smith (DeWayne) and LaKeisha Branigan (Troy); his great grandchildren, Amaiya Branigan, Sa'Nia Mazique-Smith and Aristen Branigan; and his sister Jessie Lee Jordan.
He also sponsored and made financial contributions to countless community events and Carswell family reunions.
