William David Velarde Sr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of William David Velarde Sr. of Fort Wayne, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 9, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Filemon Velarde and Pauline Gomez; his wife Beatrice R. Velarde; his son William David Velarde Jr.; and his siblings, Roger Velarde and Pauline Escalante.
He is survived by: his children, Linda Garza of Beloit, WI, Paul D. Velarde Sr. (Stephanie) of Fort Wayne and Darlene Gonzalez (David) of Plymouth, IN; and his siblings, Robert Velarde of Peralta, NM and Mary Alice Strain of Los Lunas, NM. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the New Covenant Worship Center (3420 E Paulding Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46816).
Preferred memorials may be made out to the Velarde family.
