It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Thelma Eldean Platner of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born in Goshen, Indiana, who passed away on December 22, 2023, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Carlton and Jennie Ellen Emmert (Yoder); her husband Samuel S. Platner; her daughter Roberta Cook; and her siblings, Mildred Spear, Ralph Emmert, Ruth McClure, Doris Slane, Leonard Emmert, Robert Emmert, Norma Rice, June Dempsey and Donita Good.
She is survived by: her children, Pamela Hesse (Jerry) of Liberty Township and James Platner (Patricia) of St. Joe, Indiana; and her grandchildren, Noelle Keller (Kim), Heather Tschopp, Suzanne Vinson (Ron), Lydia Bender, Rachel Laycock (Dennis) and Jonathan Platner (Cid). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren.
