With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert L. Short of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born in Plymouth, Indiana, who passed away on December 28, 2023 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Robert L. Short to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Short and Della Short (Kason). He is survived by: his wife Mary Selle (Selle); his children, Susan Snyder (Wayne) and Scott Short (Robert Stipicevich); and his grandsons, Matt Snyder (Sarah) and Chris Snyder (Kelsey). He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to an educational scholarship fund set up by the family to honor their parent's combined 76 years of teaching in the Ft. Wayne Community Schools.

“My heart is sad. Mr. Short taught me to play baseball when I was 8 years old and for the next several years through Wildcats Baseball. I was fortunate to be reconnected with Mr. Short at Snider HS when he was my drafting teacher. He was a big encouragement to me becoming an architect. I pray that God is the peace, strength, and sustainer for the family during this difficult time. Thank you Mr. Short for investing in me as a young person. With sympathy - Rick Stump”
