It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Dowdell Sr. (Fort Wayne, Indiana), who passed away on October 22, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parent Sina Dowdell; his wife Carrie Dowdell; his father Henry Dowdell, Sr.; and his siblings, Thomas, Johnnie George, Henry Jr., James David, Ernest, Eddie, Rosetta and Julia Bell.

He is survived by: his children, Debra Porter, Denise Burton, Doris Dowdell, Diana James (Michael), Robert "Bobby" Dowdell and Donna Russell; his siblings, Angeline Barron (Jesse), Loucillie Allen, Brenda Qadir and James Dowdell; and his sister-in-law Geraldine. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
