He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis Griffith and Florence Griffith (Kunce); his wife Mildred Griffith (Bowers); and his sisters, Betty Fleming, Mary Koontz and Virginia North.

He is survived by: his daughters, Patricia "Pat" Bobay (Larry), Virginia "Ginger" Tellman (David) and Beth Bade (Ron); and his sister Barbara Eisberg. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
