He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Helen Pauline Baumgartner and Acker; his wife Carol Baumgartner; his sons, Brian of Ft Wayne and Shawn Baumgartner of Ft Wayne; his stepchildren, Randall Correll of Louisville, KY, Daniel Correll (Anita) of Ft Wayne and Tamara Schmitt (Craig) of Ft Wayne; and his sister Pam Bienz (Gene) of Decatur. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
