Nanette Marie La Pointe Coble Obituary

Nanette Marie "Nan" La Pointe Coble, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2024. Nan went to grade school at the Most Precious Blood Catholic School and graduated from North Side High School. She enjoyed different employment positions over the years, including working for Lincoln Bank (where she met her husband, Eddie), for Schomburg Pharmacy, for the Retiree Prescription Center, and for the Wayne Township Trustee's Office.

Nan was a Master Gardener and enjoyed her involvement with the Purdue University Extension Master Gardener Program and gave many lectures over the years at the annual Fort Wayne Home and Garden Show. She also enjoyed working with her husband at the Southwest Conservation Club, revitalizing one acre to its native roots with Indiana flowers and prairie plants – a true living legacy! During their 40 years of marriage, Nan and Eddie loved to travel and spend time in the outdoors.

She was known to fish, hunt, canoe, white water raft, scuba dive, and ride ATVs. They enjoyed different lakes in Indiana, as well as spending time in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Florida. Her love of manatees is known by all who knew her!

Nan is survived by her husband, Eddie Coble; step-children, Michelle Parish, Lisa Sexton, and Tina Coble; three step-grandchildren; nephew, Elias Yabarra; niece, Carla Ybarra-Dawson; and two great nieces. Nan is preceded in death by mother, Patricia "Patt" Motter La Pointe Marquette; first husband, Robert "Bob" La Pointe; second husband, Marlet Marquette; and sister, Sally Ybarra. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at C.M. Sloan and Sons Funeral Home, 1327 North Wells Street, Fort Wayne with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior.
