He was predeceased by: his parents, George Barnes and Nellie Barnes (Cronkite); his wife Mary T. Barnes; and his sister Georgiann Barnes. He is survived by: his children, Michael Barnes (Amy) of Fort Wayne, Molly Trambaugh (Derek) of Noblesville and Tim Barnes (Kelly) of Indianapolis; his brothers, Kevin and Gordon Barnes; and his grandchildren, Katy, James Barnes, Abigail and Mary Trambaugh.

Memorial contributions may be made to St Jude School or Guide Dogs for the Blind, where Felda and Felicity were trained.
