He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Tarr and Helen Tarr (Osborne); his siblings, Max Tarr and Marjorie Feathers (Tarr); and his stepgreat-grandson Elijah Davis.

He is survived by: his wife Bonita; his children, Melissa J. Tarr-Buckler (David) of Marion, IN and Eric M. Tarr (Clare) of Rochester, MN; his grandchildren, Patrick Buckler (Ashley), Solomon and Morrison Tarr; his stepgrandchildren, Becky Davis (Chris), Holly Buckler and David Buckler Jr. (Sara); his great grandchild Samuel Buckler; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Alandra King, Adrienne, Charlotte Davis, Ezra, Adelaide and Baby Boy Buckler; and his siblings, Myron Tarr and Marianne Turner (Tarr).
