It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Jane Mertz of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born in Churubusco, Indiana, who passed away on September 11, 2023, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Maloney and Elizabeth Maloney (Burns); her husband Walter Daniel Mertz; and her grandsons, Ryan McQueen and Drew Mertz.

She is survived by: her children, Jacquelyn McQueen (Randall) of Fort Wayne, Kathleen Loomis (Gary) of Hannibal and David Mertz. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Donations may be given to Mission Hill Baptist Church, Palmyra, Missouri.
