He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Bartee and Mildred Bartee; his grandsons, Peter Allen Bartee and Andrew Bradley Bartee; and his grandparents, JD, Arie Singletary of Clarksdale, Larry, Naval Reserve and S. S. Mobile.

He is survived by: his close friend Sherry (Kelly); his children, Kelly LaPan (Karl), Brad Bartee (Amy) and Leigh Anne Busch (Rob); his sister Ann Morgan (Louis); and his brother-in-law Jim Newton (late Yvonne). He is also survived by grandchildren, one nephew and three nieces.
