He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Mayes and Creasie Mayes (Heck); and his wife Barbara. He is survived by: his children, Susie Sanchez (George), Lisa Hoot (Ron), Kermit Mayes Jr. (Karen Wallace) and Jason Mayes (Tricia). He is also survived by eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; four great- great-grandchildren.
