He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo John and Bonnie Jean Flanagan (Raber); his grandparents, John and Hazel Flanagan; his aunt Chy Leighner; his uncle Keith Leighner; and his cousin Marcia Ladd (Harold).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Flanagan (Mote); his cousins, Kerry, John Coomer of Sturgis, Janet, Roger Small of Lansing, Karla Messing (Wally) of Decatur, Steve, Nancy Stopher of Fort Wayne, Barb, Bill Overdeer of Columbia City and Carol Stopher of Fort Wayne, Indiana; his sister-in-law Judy Mote of Fresno, California; his nephew Scott Michaels; and his brother Jim Sours of Fort Wayne, Indiana.. He is also survived by children except nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Turnstone Center for Children & Adults with Disabilities.
