He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Luther Sharp, Sr. and Anna Ruth Redding (Smith); his brothers, Roy Luther Sharp Jr., Charlie Sharp and David Sharp; his sister-in-law Martha Sharp; and his stepfather Raymond Redding.

He is survived by: his wife Judith Elaine Musser; his siblings, Judith Howe (Sharp), William Sharp and Dale Sharp; his children, David L. Sharp, Kelly Geier (Sharp), Sarah E. Sharp, William F. Sharp and Rebecca K. Sharp; his close friend Mary Johnson; and his children, Jimmie R. Sharp Jr., Daniel T. Sharp and Linda A. Sharp. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Vietnam Veterans of America, Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude's Children Hospital.
