He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Earl Schumaker and Gladys M. Schumaker (Wagner); his wife Irene; his son James E (Schumaker Jr.); and his brother Robert Schumaker.
He is survived by: his son Dennis E. Schumaker; his stepchildren, Susan Muncy (Greg), Debra Ruch (Michael), Toni Thompson (James) and Steven DeCarlo; and his brother Thomas Schumaker. He is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen or the American Red Cross.
