He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Miller and Virginia Miller (Craighead); his daughter Cynthia K. Lee; and his brother Gerald Miller (Barbara). He is survived by: his wife Judith Miller (Andorfer); his sons, James R. Miller Jr. (Reyne) and Andrew Miller (Carrie); his grandchildren, James R. Miller III, Michael L. Miller and Alyssia R. Thaxton; and his siblings, Carolyn Graft (Richard), Susan Shepherd, John Miller (Joan), Joseph Miller, Geoffrey "Jeff" Miller (Sally) and Paula Brauner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
