He is survived by: his wife Edna Ruth; his children, Thomas Ashley of Middletown, Anthony Clayton, David Clayton, Robert Clayton (Yvonne) of Fort Wayne, Shri Vonne Beard (Daniel) of Kokomo, Joyce Strong (Earl) of Fort Wayne, Elaine White (Ron) of Muncie, Nina Shaw (Dante) and Esther Kenner; and his aunts, Dorothy McGhee and Gloria Smith. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great host of other relatives, church family and friends.
