With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donald Lee Schlichtenmyer of Fort Wayne, Indiana, who passed away on May 18, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Schlichtenmyer and Berniece Schlichtenmyer; his siblings, Jean Vinyard, Betty LaDow, Robert Schlichtenmyer and Ronald Schlichtenmyer; and his wife Bernice Wirl Putterbaugh.

He is survived by: his children, Edward Schlichtenmyer (Sue), Brian Schlichtenmyer (Toni), Shari Lloyd (Dave), Charles Putterbaugh (Tasha), Teresa Croteau and Karen Carey (Don). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
