It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Frank Mason Sr. (Fort Wayne, Indiana), born in South Bend, Indiana, who passed away on October 31, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Mason and Gertrude Mason; and his brothers, Terry Mason (Karen) and Mike Mason. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia "Sue" Mason; his children, Don Mason Jr. (Kristen), Heather Schimmele (Steve) and Nicole Korte (Brent); his grandchildren, Morgan Nierman (Rob), Masie Casaburo (Trey), Colton Mason, Marinn Korte, Landin Korte, Parker Schimmele, Brianna Mason and Alex Korte; his great grandchildren, Jamie, Teddy Casaburo and Wyndham Nierman; and his siblings, Richard Mason (Margo), Robert Mason (Dixie), Bill Mason (Sue), Debbie Galvas (Nick), Gary Mason (Sue) and David Mason (Christine). He is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews, 42 great-nieces and nephews, and 11 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the D. O. McComb Funeral Homes - Pine Valley (1320 E Dupont Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46825). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, November 9th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church (12305 Arcola Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46818).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Parkview Hospice or Matthew 25 in Don's memory.
