He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Zern and Josephine Zern (Hilgendorf); his daughter Tammy Zern; his granddaughter Miranda Kurtz; and his siblings, Galen Zern, June Patterson and Sharon Holland.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Zern (Kime); his children, Tonya Deen (Gary) of Fort Wayne, Tina Kurtz (Jon) of Fort Wayne, Brad Zern (Shelley) of Fort Wayne, Tim (Pam) of Fort Wayne, Tom (Beth) of Fort Wayne, Terry Bussen (Joyce) of Fort Wayne, Ted Bussen (Jennifer) of Fort Wayne and Todd Bussen of Fort Wayne; his grandchildren, Madelyn Kurtz (Collin Haag) of Cement City, MI, Logan Kurtz (Hana Elmore) of Seymour, IN and Ben Zern of Fort Wayne; and his sister Judy Zern of Fort Wayne.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Divine Mercy Funeral Home - Fort Wayne (3500 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Divine Mercy Funeral Home (3500 Lake Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46805).
