He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary M. Young (Welch) and Jonathan Young; his half-brother Jonathan W. Young; and his sister Carolyn Smith (Young). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ervin; his half-sister Nancy; his stepsister Prudence; his children, Roslind Young of Redwood City, CA and Jonathan D. Young III of Valparaiso, IN.; his stepson Zachary Ervin of Indianapolis, IN; his daughter Stephanie Daugherty (Adrian Dance) of Ft. Wayne, IN; his grandchildren, Adria, Ariah and AD Dance; his nieces, Laura and Sharon Smith; and his sisters-in-law, Jacqueline Irwin, Teresa Keller and Jeanne Blain.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in David's memory to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
