He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Lawson and Juanita Lawson (Mikesell); and his siblings, Orville, Joseph Lawson, Lois Chriss, Debbie Conwell and Eileen Niccoleta.

He is survived by: his wife Doris; and his children, Doug Lawson (Vera) of Euless, Tex, Dana Rochyby (Jack) of Hoagland, D. Katie Wiedman (Lawrence) of Hanover, Mich, Danelle Witte (Brian) of Lima and David Timothy Lawson of Woodburn. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.

Preferred memorials to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, or Salvation Army.
