She was predeceased by: her parents, Victoria Kuhn (Lucas) and Edward Kuhn; her son Kent Whitman; and her siblings, John, Hobart, Anthony Kuhn and Mary Obringer.

She is survived by: her husband William Sample; her children, Scott Whitman (Kathleen), Brenda Combs (Matthew) and Steve Whitman (Terra); her stepchildren, Jason Sample (Erinn) and Sarah Smith (Chris); her sisters, Christina Schaefer and Nila Radenbaugh; and her grandchildren, Derek, David Whitman (Magalie), Lyndsay Cekander (Jake), Joseph Whitman (Katie), Amber Webb (Trevor), Colin Doerr (Maddie), Landin Staker, Quinn Smith, Haizel Sample, Maddie Smith, Emma Whitman and Lukus Sample. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren.
