He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Carl Satre and Elizabeth Satre. He is survived by: his sister Mary Catherine Satre Ensign; his wife Joyce Seifert; his daughters, Caroline Satre (Brad Davick) and Mary Satre (Noah Smith); and his granddaughters, Audrey, Adaline, Arianna and Elizabeth. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Messiah Lutheran Church.
