She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Spillers Sr. and Ethel Spillers (Reicherd); her daughter Cheryl Tipton; her siblings, Opal Conn (Spillers), Virginia Byroade (Spillers), Robert Spillers, Kenneth Spillers and Elmer "Bud" Spillers Jr.; and her granddaughter Laquita Tipton-Underwood.
She is survived by: her son James Tipton of Fort Wayne, IN; and her grandchildren, Chalena Tipton Hardy and Jimmy Jones. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
