With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bernice Lucille Crews of Fort Wayne, Indiana, born in Zion, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 24, 2024. She was predeceased by: her parents, Annie Boddie and Rufus Johnson; her husband Jeffrey Crews; her son James Johnson (Plug); and her brother John Boddie.
She is survived by: her children, Sheldon Smith, Tylea Walton and Jasmine Smith (Jazzy); and her siblings, James Johnson, Robert Johnson (Frank), Mary McDowell (Angie B.) and Minnie Upshaw. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
