We are sad to announce that on November 12, 2024, at the age of 95, Avril Laverne Christensen (Fort Wayne, Indiana), born in Kezar Falls, Maine passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Avril departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Avril. Though Avril may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Hammond and Nellie Hammond Sr. (Stacy); her husband Walter Christensen; her daughter-in-law Patricia Christensen; and her sister Jacqueline Emmons.
She is survived by: her sons, Dain Christensen (Deborah) and Robert Christensen. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; 1 niece and 1 nephew.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bethany Lutheran Church (3435 Engle Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46809). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church or Humane Fort Wayne.
