She was predeceased by: her parents, Clemar Bates and Luveta Turner Bates; her children, Cynthia Ann Helvy (Cindy), Lisa Yvonne Holmes (Bobby), John Dale Bates and Roger Grigsby; her grandchildren, Bryson Grigsby and Syrai Grigsby; and her siblings, John Bates Jr., John Clemar Bates, Bill Bates, Sedric Bates, Elouise Reed, Norvis Bates and Doris McGhee.
She is survived by: her children, Cleveland Grigsby Jr., Yolanda Lynn Grigsby, Minister Fernanda Yvette Grigsby, Carlos Grigsby (Deidria Grigsby) and Darrin Marquette Grigsby. She is also survived by 55 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Tree of Life Missionary Baptist Church (520 E Washington Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46802). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Tree of Life Baptist Church (520 E Washington Blvd, Fort Wayne, IN 46802).
