She was predeceased by: her father Armon Sensmeier; and her husband Gregory Barrett. She is survived by: her children, Mark Barrett (Pegah) of Chicago, IL, Jennifer Seibert (Kevin) of Haubstadt, IN and Beth Ross (Kacey) of Evansville, IN; her sisters, Carolyn Zenthoefer (Jack) of Fort Branch, IN, Patty Lowenkamp (Terry) of Indianapolis, IN and Sherrie Ziegler (Terry) of Haubstadt, IN; and her grandchildren, Delany, Ashton Seibert and Atlas Barrett.

Donation in her honor can be made to the American Diabetes Association and the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University.
