He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Pohl and Catherine Pohl (Watermann); his siblings, Harold Pohl, Robert Pohl, Victoria Pohl (Gene Pohl) and Marilyn Ankenbrand (Victor Pohl Jr.); and his great grandchild Nora Rose Berry.
He is survived by: his daughters, Stacy Winstead (David) of Owensville, Dawn Young (Mike) of Fort Branch and Mindy Pohl of Fort Branch; his grandchildren, Nathan Winstead (Kaycie), Melanie Stodghill (Michael), Marissa Berry (Brandon) and Grant Young (Ericka); his great grandchildren, Lyla, Zoey Winstead, Emerson Robicheaux, Abby, Brooke, Bentley, Noah Stodghill, Wesley, Reese Berry, Kaiden and Eleanor Young; and his brother Don Pohl (Sharon) of Fort Branch.
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Stodghill Funeral Home (500 E Park St, Fort Branch, IN 47648). Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Cross Catholic Church (305 E Walnut St, Fort Branch, IN 47648). The military honors will be held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (228 E Park St, Fort Branch, IN 47648).
He and Melba would can and freeze their vegetables and would donate fresh fruits and vegetables to the Lord's Pantry. He would pick up and shell pecans which he would donate to the Sisters of St. Benedict, he had donated 15 gallons this year.
