She was predeceased by: her parents, Ellis B. Shane and Rosetta Shane (Dickenson); her husband William H. "Bill" Shafer, Sr.; her son-in-law Tom Hill; and her siblings, Nina Henderson, Ernest and Donald Shane.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Graves (Dorel), William H. "Bill" Shafer, Jr. (Shirley), Jane Ann Hopkins (Greg), Cynthia Lou Hill and Robert Dale Shafer (Rhonda); and her sister Mary Alice Kem. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, 61, plus 2 on the way great grandchildren, 2 plus 1 on the way great-great grandchildren.
