He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Cloyce and Anna Sofia Beard (McCorkle); his wife Florence Honor Beard (Voyce); his children, William C. "Bill" Beard (Pamela), Craig M. Beard (Roseann), Blake I. Beard (Christine), Pamela L. "Pam" Caito (Anthony), Scott M. Beard (Wendy) and Lynne H. Shepard; and his grandchildren, William "Billy", Heather, Rebecca "Becky", Adam, Samuel "Sam", Gracie, Blake, Emily, Amanda, Melissa, Joseph, Cameron and Mara. He was also cherished by nine great-grandchildren.
