He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Augst and Rose Augst (Cook); and his siblings, Ernest, Owen Augst and Geraldine Winsley.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Erb; his children, Gary Augst (Debby) of Commerce, Jason Augst (Christie) of Wilmington, N. C., Vickie Ayres (Richard) of Bringhurst, Cheryl French (Bruce) of Kalamazoo and Celeste Mandley of Anchorage, Ala; his grandchildren, Terris Ayres (Amanda), Tiffany Noblitt (Brett), Taylor Augst, Jeremy Eggers (Kayla), Aaron French (Stacy), Caleb French (Jenny), Heather, Benjamin Mandley, Stephanie Underwood (Andrew), Cameron, Kiersten, Keaton and Kelsey Augst; and his sister Bonnie Rockafellow of Charlotte, Mich.. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in Vaughn's honor may be made to the First Baptist Church of Delphi or the Carroll County Food Pantry; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
