We bid farewell to Doris Jean Monroe of Flat Rock, Indiana, born in Shelbyville, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 31, 2024 at the age of 87. Doris Jean touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Danville Sullivan and Sylvia Sullivan; her husband Larry Monroe; and her brother Bill Brooks. She is survived by: her sister Louise Gwin; her children, Anita Mings (Scott) of Flat Rock, Jeff Monroe of Columbus, Kent Monroe of Flat Rock, Eric Monroe (Sandy) of Hope, Tim Monroe of Hope and Steve Monroe; and her grandchildren, Jordan Myers, Justin Mings, Sarah Mings, Erica Burbrink, Joshua Monroe, Cassy Minor, Glenn Monroe, Jessica Foster and Jennifer Monroe. She is also survived by her sons, babysitting her grandchildren and taking rides with her husband and daughter.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 4th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Flat Rock Cemetery (2507 W Bartholomew St, Flat Rock, IN 47234).
