He was predeceased by: his parents, William Akin, and Reba Akin, Sr. (Cook). He is survived by: his wife Linda Akin; his sons, William David Akin (Marlita) and Jon Akin (Brandy); his grandchildren, Jackson Akin, Adelaide Akin and Jonathan Akin; and his brother David Akin (Lana).
