He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Chester Wenzel and Gertrude Wenzel; his wife Karen Thomsen; his daughters, Susan Smith (Michael), Lori Wenzel and Jennifer Martin; his grandchildren, Jeremy Smith (Jessica), Matthew Smith (Megan), Katie Lampen (Jake), Danielle Redkey and Riley Choe; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Max Smith, Sam Lampen and Sully Smith. He was also cherished by his children's and, later, his grandchildren.
