He was predeceased by: his parents, Verlan Vandegriff and Viola Vandegriff of Muncie, Indiana; his wife Charlotte Vandegriff of Muncie, Indiana; his stepchildren, Judith Vandegriff and Brian Vandegriff; and his brothers, Charles Vandegriff (Janet) and David Vandegriff.
He is survived by: his children, Patrick, Christopher, Jo Anne, Thomas, Paul, Nicholas, James, Mary Hensley and Marci Burk; his brother Joe Vandegriff (Elaine); his nephew Jon Vandegriff (Sharon); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Elizabeth, Johan, Celeste and Lincoln; his niece Joan Tien (Hubert); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Dessie and Cora; his sister Janice Burt (Don); his niece Kristen; his nephews, Richard and Carl; his sister-in-law Sue Vandegriff; and his nieces and nephews, David Gene Vandegriff, Jennifer Mitcheltree, Jill Clayton and David Bruce Vandegriff.
