With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Vernita Lueken of Ferdinand, Indiana, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Vernita left this world on March 22, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Simon Nord and Philomena Nord (Seifert); her husband Oliver Lueken; her son Paul Lueken; and her siblings, Loretta Nord, Emil Nord, Edna Roll, Velma Grundhoefer, Francis "Bencie" Nord, Jerome "Jim" Nord, Bernice Smith and Sylvester "Vestie" Nord.

She is survived by: her daughters, Linda Shaneyfelt (Bill) of Jasper, Sharon Lindauer (Phil) of Ferdinand and Donna Durcholz (Gordon) of Newburgh.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Ferdinand Catholic Church (840 Maryland St, Ferdinand, IN 47532). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters Of St. Benedict.
