He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schwoeppe and Louise Schwoeppe (Woebkenburg); and his brothers, Floyd, Charles, Louis and James Schwoeppe.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Schwoeppe of Ferdinand; his children, Steve Schwoeppe (Linda) of Ferdinand, John Schwoeppe (Georgia) of Fishers, IN., Margie Stallman (Dave) of Ferdinand, Kathy Hoppenjans (Mike) of Ferdinand, Janet Yorlano (Steve) of Gallatin, TN., Linda McCoy (Andy) of Columbia, MD. and Ann Sonderman (Andy) of Greenwood, IN.; and his sister Mary Lou Weisman (Darrell) of Ireland. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
