He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Tretter and Mary Tretter (Schaeffer); his son Gregory Tretter; his siblings, Urban Tretter and Esther Weidenbenner; and his in-laws, John Weidenbenner, Bill Balbach, Donald Hopf, Mary Lou Tretter, James and Kathleen Ebert.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Tretter of Ferdinand; his sons, Tim Tretter (Jill) of Overland Park, KS, Chris Tretter (Dawn) of Ferdinand and Scott Tretter (Lisa) of Oakland City; and his siblings, Irene Balbach of Haubstadt, Almeda Hopf of Jasper, Alice Gilson (Leo) of Jasper and Linus Tretter of Celestine. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and one step-grandchild; six great-grandchildren.
Only Covid 19 would eventually force Ray out of the workforce.
