He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Hoppenjans and Caroline Hoppenjans (Schipp); his aunt Josephine Schipp; his father-in-law John Buechler; and his brother-in-law Clarence Fuchs.

He is survived by: his wife Sheila Hoppenjans; his children, Jill Weedman (Steven) of Tell City, Jackie Morey (Chris) of Indianapolis and John Hoppenjans (Christina) of Ferdinand; and his grandchildren, Austin, Alivia, Abram Hoppenjans and Kohen Morey.
