He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis DeRossett and Stella DeRossett; his daughter Leah DeRossett-McFarren; his siblings, Darrell, Claude DeRossett, Ann DeRossett and Pam Brown; his nephew Glen Bartel; and his pet Shiloh.

He is survived by: his sons, David and Jason DeRossett; his grandchildren, Resa, Josh DeRossett, MariAnna Otis, Shayla, Talon, Phoenix, Delilah DeRossett and Sophie; his great grandchildren, Ethan Otis, Alea and Connor DeRossett; his sister Barbara George; and his nephews, Gary, Chris Jones and Jeff Bartel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marion-Grant County Humane Society, or to the Make A Wish Foundation.
