He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest R. Jr. Zahnd and Esther Zahnd (Crandall); his wife Bonnie Johnson; his brother Stephen Zahnd; and his nephews, Eric Zahnd and Ryan Zahnd.
He is survived by: his daughter Carolyn Singer (Shawn) of Shelbyville; his stepsons, Jimmy Spivey of Indianapolis and Curtis Spivey (Sharon) of Idaho; his siblings, Charles Zahnd of Fairland, Joseph Zahnd (Patsy) of Fairland and Patricia Proctor (Bill) of Mooresville; his grandchildren, Jacob, Jonah, Crystal, Curtis and Kayla; his niece Margaret; and his nephews, William and Joey. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
