Wallace Lee Gill Obituary

Wallace Lee Gill, 81, of Evansville, IN passed away Monday, June 24, 2024. He was born in Rockport, Indiana on September 11, 1942, to the late Lemuel and Ella Mae (Lee) Gill.

Wallace worked at Whirlpool for 20 years and then Evansville Housing Authority where he retired after 20 plus years. He enjoyed being around his family, watching movies and old westerns. Wallace especially loved his dogs, Big Boy and Zoey.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Gill, Larry Gill, Henry Gill, Ronald Gill, and Thomas Gill; sisters Mary Elizabeth Gill and Dianne Gill; step-father, Henry Rogers; step-son Kevin Mattingly; grandsons Joseph Clark II and Joseph Clark III; great grandson Bryson Rollins; and brother, Rodney Miller.

Wallace is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cindy Gill; sisters, Linda Jane Russell (Karl), Brenda Rogers Bertinelli (Dan) and Sandra Rogers Mears; step daughters, Tina Martin, Katrina Weinzapfel, and Brandy Hanson; step sons, Michael Wade, Jeremy Denning and Joey Clark; grandchildren, Angel, April, Anna, Azia, Kimber, Kaleb, Katelynn, Anthony, Drake, Brea, Clara, Ethan, Austin, Brooklynn, Ashley and Aaliyah; great grandchildren, Legacy, Willow, Grace, Alex, and Lex; nieces and nephews, Byron "Tom" Gill, Darrin "Monty" Gill, Eric Gill, Diane Gill, Michael Gill, Jeremy Gill, Allen Hart, Roger Dale Rogers (Kerry), Stacy Hart, Olivia Bertinelli, Stephanie Rogers-Warfield (Jason), Aaron Russell, Ronald Gill, Jr., and Paula Gill Rievera.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Alexander East Chapel, 2115 Lincoln Avenue, officiated by Pastor Randall K. Lander, Sr.

Family and friends may visit on Monday from from noon until service time at the funeral home.
