As Virginia departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Virginia. Though Virginia may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mildred Yohnka and Harry Yohnka; her husband Mike Barnes, Jr.; her son Michael "Mickey"; her granddaughter Suzanne Furgerson; and her brother Richard Yohnka.
She is survived by: her daughters, F. Colleen Furgerson, Christa Tomes (Tim) and Cynthia Elpers. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel (6300 N First Ave, Evansville, IN 47710). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location.
