She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Parrish and Rosa Elliott Parrish; her former husband Horace McGuire Sr.; her husband Melvin Carter Sr.; her sons, Horace McGuire Jr. and Bruce Carter; her granddaughter Zuri McGuire; her great grandchild Jesiah Abd-El; her daughter Donna Carter; and her siblings, Alpha Parrish-Foreman, Dr. Mayme Green, Raymond, William, Eddie and James Parrish.
She is survived by: her caregivers, Natalie McGuire and Kimberly McGuire-Bushrod (Anthony); her children, Gary McGuire (Sharmon), Kenneth McGuire (Connie), Mazzie Carter (Beverly), Melvin Carter Jr. (Donna), Timothy Parker (Emily) and Rev. Robert Saunders (Patrice); her grandchildren, Sirena McGuire-Watson (Lonnie II), ShaMaka Wilson, Dominika (Francois), Torace McGuire, Tanisha McGuire, Whitney Carter, Sierra Carter, Byron Carter, Corey Carter, Nikki Carter, Jasmine Carter and Quincy Carter; and her great grandchildren, Lonnie Watson III, Borum Kidd, Kyree, Rozzalyn Watson, Lionel Watson, Mamebousso Kidd, Aurielle and Elijah Muhammad McGuire Cubilla. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
