He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schapker and Anna Schapker (Seib); his wife Minnie Schapker (Striegel); his daughter Sharon Strader; and his brothers, Irvin, Arthur, Sylvester, Paul, Oliver, Jim, Alfred and John Schapker.
He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Janelle Musick (James), Nancy Pritchett (Raymond) and Diane Christensen (Brian); his son-in-law Mike Strader; his siblings, Barbara Dassel and Jerry Schapker; his grandchildren, Dr. Dan Musick (Laura), Andrew Musick (Rachel), Tim Pritchett (Jessica), Laura Pritchett and Megan Pritchett; and his great grandchildren, Max, Bella, Sam Pritchett, Charlie, Tillie, Harry Musick and Gabe Schleter.
Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry or to the Evansville War Museum.
