With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joseph William Gerteisen of Evansville, Indiana, who passed away on April 2, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Gerteisen (Thiery) and Frank Michael Gerteisen; his significant other Virginia "Ginny" Gerteisen of Hornet's Nest Restaurant; and his siblings, Albert, Clarence, John, Leo, Francis, Edward, Robert and Mary.
He is survived by: his children, Cathy Kahre (Jeff) of Wadesville, IN, Russell Gerteisen (Ann) of Newburgh, IN, Julie Myers (Brad) of Brentwood, TN and Diana Everley (Tim) of Evansville, IN..
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Mass was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (5301 Daylight Dr, Evansville, IN 47725).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
